I feel incredibly fortunate to be in a profession that I love and to have the ability to serve the communities that I do. I am motivated by my desire to educate and treat patients and their families, and I welcome the opportunity to provide a family-focused orthodontic practice.
Our extremely talented and friendly team will provide you and your family with the most up-to-date information and latest research to deliver the highest standard of care. Our team welcomes patients of all ages and looks forward to the opportunity to get to know you throughout your treatment.
I attended Romeo Senior High School and graduated as Valedictorian in 1998. Thereafter, I traveled to the University of Michigan where I called Ann Arbor home for 11 years. After I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of Michigan, I did not want to leave. I continued my training at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where I received numerous academic and clinical accolades, including graduating at the top of my dental class in 2006. I was also inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society based on my academic achievements. Staying at the University of Michigan for my orthodontics degree was a natural fit for me, and I graduated with a Master’s degree in Orthodontics.
During my orthodontic training, my research interest was facial and smile aesthetics, a topic that continues to draw my interest today. Soon after graduation, I earned my status as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, the highest national level of certification an orthodontist can achieve.
I moved to Romeo the summer before my junior year of high school. After spending 11 years living in Ann Arbor, I returned to the area. My wife, Sarah, and I were married in 2008, and we live with our dog, Marley, and our cat, Maggie. When time allows, we enjoy outdoor activities such as biking the Macomb Orchard Trail or skiing in Northern Michigan.
I enjoy golfing, playing racquetball and basketball, and spending time with family and friends. During high school at Romeo, I played varsity golf for the team. Even though I cannot find the amount of practice time I once had, I still enjoy playing on evenings or weekends.
If you hear laughter in the office, you will find me there! I am the Treatment Coordinator at the St. Clair Shores office, and I love to meet our new patients and welcome them to our world of orthodontics. I graduated from Michigan State University, which makes the football season always a fun time for Dr. Havens and me. Since graduation, I have been working in the field of orthodontics. I absolutely love meeting with patients and their families, hearing their stories, and seeing their final result. All these things make my job so rewarding.
When I’m not at work, you can find me cheering on my Spartans and Tigers alongside my husband, Paul. In May 2012, we were blessed with our awesome little boy, Luke. He will be Dr. Havens’ patient around 2021… I’m already checking for eruption and proper alignment of his teeth! I love football Saturdays, playing euchre, and eating whatever deliciousness my husband cooks. I tend to burn water, so I stay out of the kitchen!
I have worked in the orthodontic field for over 20 years. I started out as an assistant and later moved to the front desk. I eventually transitioned into my current role as the office manager. I have the pleasure of being the first person to welcome everyone to our office. I love the wonderful relationships that I have built with our patients and their families. I enjoy seeing their confidence grow with their changing smiles. I feel fortunate to work with an amazing group of people every day. Dr. Havens is warm, kind and easy to work with. It is rewarding to see all of the new technology that he brings to making treatment easier and more comfortable for our patients.
At home, my husband Jeff and I enjoy spending time with family, enjoying outdoor barbeques, taking walks and watching movies. I also enjoy reading, baking, and working in the yard.
After 34 years as a clinical assistant, it is my personal goal to make sure the process of receiving orthodontic care at Havens Orthodontics is smooth and everyone who enters and leaves the office feels at home. As a Clinical Assistant for Dr. Havens, I work directly with patients and parents throughout the duration of their orthodontic care.
Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my two successful adult children, Lauren and Brian, and my two amazing rescue dogs, Ava and Donovan. In my spare time, I enjoy cruising around Michigan on the back of a Harley, shopping, and doing yard work.
I have the privilege of being the first smiling face to greet everyone who walks through our doors. I interact with our patients in a warm and welcoming way, and I help them find convenient times for their appointments. Our goal is for everyone to feel welcome, and I enjoy the opportunity to help our patients become valued members of our orthodontic family. I love working with Dr. Havens because he is dedicated to providing amazing smiles that are as healthy as they are gorgeous. We really are a family here at Havens Orthodontics, and I feel blessed to have friends, not just co-workers, to pass each day with.
I have been married to my husband, Rob, for seven years, and we have four children: Adam, Kelly, Joe, and Lanie. In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, shopping, and reading on my new Kindle® Fire.
As one of our clinical assistants, I am responsible for assisting Dr. Havens with any aspect of our patients’ clinical care. I love having the opportunity to work hands-on with our patients, and it has allowed me to make some great friendships with the people in our chairs and their families. My favorite part of my job is making our patients always feel comfortable during their time in our office. Like all of us here, I also love seeing a patient’s smile after their braces are removed – they really light up the room! Working with Dr. Havens has been awesome because he has such a great eye for detail, and he always explains everything about our patients' treatments to them in easy-to-understand language.
My husband, Matt, and I have triplets, Jim, Lois, and Matt, and they are 15 years old. We also have a German Shepard named Max. I enjoy gardening, painting ceramics, crafting, and attending our kids’ many school sports and functions.
At our practice, I am responsible for assisting in all aspects of our patients’ clinical care. I also specialize as the treatment coordinator where I can work one-on-one with our patients to explain their treatments and educate them on the best ways to care for the amazing smiles they receive from Dr. Havens. My position allows me to interact with new patients and their families and follow them through treatment to ensure that they receive the great experiences that we strive to provide. Seeing the final results of our patients’ treatments is easily my favorite part of my job.
I live with my husband of 17 years, Tom, my daughter, Kaitlin, and my son, Brandon. We also have three four-legged family members in our dog, JJ, our cat, Tiger, and our hamster, Nala. I feel blessed to have such an awesome family. When I have time, I enjoy spending time with my children and attending their various sporting events, and I also enjoy volunteering in our community.
